Research Approach

We at MacroCapita believe that it is crucial to closely monitor the decisions taken by developing countries in the coming years, the movement of capital, the magnitude and nature of FDI flows, the importance of energy and regulation, and security of energy supply. A unique feature of our approach towards development and energy economics is that we place a great deal of importance on the role of enterprise in developing countries, and the relationships between enterprises and government institutions.

It is our aim to closely analyze the causes of various crises and market/raegulatory/government failures throughout the world, in an effort to better understand these events (with a key emphasis on their interdepednencies), and to predict them early enough to provide sound policy advice. Specifically, we believe that energy markets (both in reference to oil as well as electricity generation & distribution) have a key role to play in deciding the global political and economic ground rules for future generations. We closely monitor energy market fundamentals, game theoretical models, foreign policies, and regulatory frameworks with this regard. Specifically, we take pride in our pioneering work and competence in the realm of regulation in developing countries.
